Pustertal Railway
THE PUSTER VALLEY RAILWAY
The Puster Valley Railway is almost entirely accessible. Only the station at San Candido does not currently have a level boarding platform. The Puster Valley Railway meets the latest requirements and quality standards, making it a worthwhile alternative to the private car: between Franzensfeste and Innichen, accessible trains are in service, the platforms are covered and feature ample bicycle racks and commuter parking spaces. So enjoy your journey on the new Puster Valley Railway!
THE TOILET ON BOARD IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE
The toilet on the train is fitted with a sliding door (door width 80 cm) that closes with a slight curve (door threshold approx. 1 cm). The door opens automatically at the push of a button. Inside, there is also sufficient space to manoeuvre for independent use. The total depth of the cubicle is approx. 140x140 cm (including the space under the washbasin and next to the toilet). The legroom in front of the toilet is approx. 100 cm (front clearance), whilst the space between the toilet and the side wall is approx. 80 cm. The toilet is fitted with 3 grab rails: a swivel grab rail and a fixed grab rail on the side wall next to the toilet, and an additional grab rail by the washbasin. The automatic door is also fitted with grab rails. An easily accessible alarm bell (SOS button), a wheelchair-accessible washbasin (washbasin height 85 cm, clearance under the washbasin 65 cm) and the seat height of the toilet also have a positive impact on accessibility. With a continuous height of 50–200 cm, the mirror also meets all requirements.
Reserved seats are available in the train carriage for passengers with disabilities.
