Mondotreno is the largest digital installation of miniature railways in Italy. Mondotreno is situated in Rablà near Merano and represents, with over 20,000 pieces, one of the largest private collections of miniature trains. Mondotreno impresses with its stunning models, reproductions in scale 1:87 (H0), complete with numerous details and interactive elements that arouse the amazement of its visitors. Discover the Alps in miniature and our incredible world of fantasy "Mezzamontagna" with its impressive variety of landscapes.
MINIATURE SOUTH TYROL
South Tyrol in miniature from Spa of Brennero to Malles Venosta: this is what you will find walking around on the first floor of the exhibition. Covering an area of over 300 square meters, visitors can immerse into the comprehensive and fascinating landscapes of South Tyrol. There are numerous castles and fortresses, but also realistic details such as a car accident or the nostalgic little train of the railway Renon. And even in Mondotreno night falls: at regular intervals many small lights are illuminated and magical special effects create a unique atmosphere.
MEZZAMONTAGNA
On the ground floor, visitors enter the spirit of the landscapes and of the miniature trains descending into a world of pure imagination, Mezzamontagna. An exhibition area of 40 square meters with winding paths of many miniature trains in motion, a small space full of details taken care of and an incredible variety of landscapes that capture the visitor and lead him to linger in this world of fantasy.
CHILDREN’S CORNER
For younger visitors we have reserved a special experience, to understand and learn by playing. Children can touch and do things alone, they can even drive a train. Of course, also adults can try: Mondotreno thus becomes an adventure for the whole family.
