The Val di Sesto valley (Sextnertal) at 1.316 m above sea level is the last side valley that goes from San Candido in south-west direction into the Dolomites and offers great views right from the beginning. The holiday village lies on a southern hillside, surrounded by picturesque pastures and sloping coniferous forests.

In summer a vast network of hiking trails and numerous refuges make the nature park Dolomiti di Sesto to a hiking paradise around the three pinnacles Tre Cime. There is a nice walking path that is also accessible with a pram, it passes the forest and pastures, streams, picnic areas and many playgrounds. The Val Fiscalina valley that starts from Sesto (Sexten) is often called the nicest valley on earth.

In winter, cross country ski runs mark the unique winter landscape.
The Kneippism health resort Bad Moos is situated at the beginning of the valley and also the skiing resort Croda Rossa that together with the other 5 Dolomite peaks forms the famous Sesto mountain sun dial.

Also the biggest skiing resort of the holiday region Alta Pusteria, Monte Elmo, is to be found here in Sesto and offers fantastic skiing holidays to all the snow lovers.

Culturally worth seeing is a small museum in Sesto that is dedicated to the painter Rudolf Stolz who also painted the fresco “Totentanz” (death dance) on the graveyard wall. Moreover the village has an extraordinary exhibition of nativity sets at Christmas.

Sesto has also acquired a good name due to the forum Sesto culture, here interested people have the possibility to argue on sophisticated topics.
