The pretty holiday resort Santa Cristina (St. Christina) is situated at a height of 1.428 m above sea level, with its old centre and nice hotels lies on a sunny hillside in the middle of the Val Gardena valley.

In its picturesque surroundings you can still find many typical old farm houses, the farmers tend to this wonderful landscape.

The village has many wood carving workshops and the world’s largest manger can be admired in the Iman Center amongst other mangers and works of art.

Before Christmas you also find a Christmas market in this centre, where wooden manger figures and traditional Christmas tree decorations are presented, you can also enjoy the fragrant mulled wine.

In summer the most interesting excursion is the walking path that goes along the old railway line, in the direction of Selva and plan, or to Plesdinaz where you can discover the solitary farm houses.

Santa Cristina is an ideal holiday resort for a lovely skiing holiday in South Tyrol.
The valley stations of the lifts going up to Monte Pana, Ciampinoi and Seceda are near the village centre. A modern underground train takes you up to Col Raiser (2.106 m).
From the Fermeda refuge you can go up to Seceda and from there you can go down to Ortisei.

The nature park Pùez-Odle offers nice hiking trails and all the types of rocks that are typical for the Dolomites.

To the south of Santa Cristina stands the Castle Gardena of the counts of Wolkenstein, it was built in Renaissance style.
